NCS: 7th and 9th grade

The 9th grade biology class is studying genetics. The class started with an academic warm up which was a review of key vocabulary: allele, chromosome, gamete, genotype, and phenotype. The picture catches the class reviewing the weekend homework on dihybrid crossing.

The 7th graders are in Reader’s Workshop with Alison. The goal is exposure to a variety of genres to keep literature alive as a form of recreation. At the moment the books are humorous. They have just finished reading Lubar’s "Hidden Talents." This class is listening to Alison read Park’s "Almost Starring Skinnybones," while the other section is reading "How Angel Peterson Got His Name."
